Philips has paraded its new system at IFA 2007 in Berlin which is capable of displaying images in 3D glory on a wall-mounted display. This monstrous 132″ display was made possible courtesy of nine Philips 42″ 3D displays in a 3 by 3 grid, utilizing Philips’ very own WOWvx 3D technology that brings realistic images to the viewer without the need for those dorky-looking glasses. Since individual WOWvx displays cost around 12 grand each, having nine of these in one array would bring the price tag into the world of 6 digits, making it out of reach for most people.

My friend and I were recently discussing about the ubiquitousness of technology in our daily lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory gets less expensive, the possibility of uploading our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.

Nice post... Looks like solid state memory is finally starting to become more popular. Hopefully we'll start seeing decreasing solid state harddrive prices in the near future. 5 dollar 32 GB Micro SD Cards for your DS flash card... imagine that!

I share a love/hate relationship with digital memory because of the way prices are always dropping. I absolutely hate buying SDs for my R4 / R4i at (seemingly) a cheap price only to see it become ten percent cheaper a couple of weeks later.
